My favorite quotes

The ultimate measure of a man is

NOT

where he stands in the moments of comfort and convenience

BUT

where he stands at times of

challenge and controversy ..

   -Martin Luther King .

“Thinking is Easy,

Acting is Difficult,

and

to PUT one’s "Thoughts into Action"

is

THE most difficult thing in the world”

Honest Work and True Rewards

*** One Should Read This Everyday ****

The true rewards of HONEST work are
neither to be SEEN nor HANDLED,
They are NOT measured by a GOLD STANDARD
nor by any material result.

They are not acclaimed by the applause of the crowd.
They lie within you; in your own knowledge that
you have done your BEST! that you have
striven to reach your own STARDARD of
your HIGHEST Powers.

You will often perhaps always, fail to reach your own
IDEAL but comforted ideals are not for
attainment; but for pursuit!

- Lord Moynihan

"Blessed is the man who has some congenial work,
some occupation in which he can put his heart,
and which affords a complete outlet to
all the forces there are in him"

"Money cannot buy by second best. I have put
one quality of effort that is my best"

"God do not count result, but effort"

Chemistry: Our Life and Our Future (IYC 2011)

Chemistry is everything! Recently ACS (American Chemical Society) released a video (2 mins) as part of its International year of chemistry celebrations IYC). I was inspired by ACS efforts during Aug-28 to Sep-1,2011 at Denver (Once a gold miner’s town, now is a growing metropolis!) to popularize and celerate chemistry on this occasion. There were many talks related to IYC and one particular entitled “Exploring Our World through Chemistry,” symposium in honor of the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie’s Nobel Prize was interesting. Can you make machine to speak chemistry? In the future, your mobile phone would be smart enough to understand chemistry and search the world of chemicals known to mankind. Name it blackberry, iPhone, iPAD, laptop, desktop, high performance supercomputer all will speak the language of chemistry, since the world without chemistry is world without LIFE!.. Same chemistry can eradicate life on earth, think of pollution, global warming, chemicals in war, natural disaster (chemical, biological, nuclear), radiation, etc., "handle with care" is the principle in chemistry.. same applicable to our lifestyle. Excess of anything is good for nothing. Some thoughts for the day (to be continued)

Poverty in India

If you Google 'India poverty limit' the first link probably you would get is Wikipedia where you will get the quote “Poverty is widespread in India, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. According to a 2005 World Bank estimate, 41.6% of the total Indian population falls below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 a day (PPP, in nominal terms Rs 21.6 a day in urban areas and Rs 14.3 in rural areas).”

Today (2-10-2011) we celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. Hopefully the in the years to come we will be free of correption and underprivileged would be truly free and rose to deserving level with Mahatma's blessings for India.

Great Indian Victory (worldcup 2011)

Couple of days back I designed Google Doodle (even forwarded to Google by email) anticipating India's victory in World cup (2011). Today 'Team India' brought happiness amoung billions of Indians and all the cricket lovers across the world. It was a spectacular show and 'never giveup' attitude of proud Indians in the field. You name it every one was glued to the match either personally or electronically. Sweet 28 years wait paid finally. We need to learn a lot of lessons from this victory. 1) Responsibility 2) Passion for the task in front 3) Making others (entire nation) happy..

When India got freedom, I was not born, I could witness the 'face of one happy india' today irrespective of diversity in age, region etc., It is the best moment for India at Midnight!

As rightly said by our leaders, "This victory will be etched in gold for generations to come."
